The POSTIDENT app offers a convenient and simple way to verify your identity using your smartphone. Depending on the partner company you choose, there are three options for identity verification: POSTIDENT by video chat, POSTIDENT by eID (using your national identity card or electronic residence title), or automatic verification by capturing images of your ID document and profile.

With the eID function or automated ID verification, you can quickly and securely verify your identity at any time. All identification procedures involve the checking of data by call center employees of Deutsche Post AG. Support is available from Monday to Sunday between 8 AM and 10 PM.

The POSTIDENT app also allows you to access the POSTIDENT coupon for identification at your local post office directly within the app, eliminating the need to print it out.

The identification procedures are compliant with the law, ensuring security and completed in just a few simple steps. Upon entering the transaction number provided by either our partner company or ourselves, the POSTIDENT app will initiate the procedure. For POSTIDENT by video chat, a Deutsche Post employee will provide thorough explanation of the process.

The POSTIDENT app is optimized for iPads and iPhones running iOS 13 or higher.
